TV 500 Talma Wrap

A talma is a kind of mantle, or wrap, that was very popular during the 1870's and 1880's. It has a fitted back, held in place by a hidden belt around the waist, with pleats to fit over a bustle. The front is loose in a moderate point. The "sleeve" falls in long points on the sides, with ample room to lift your arms without disturbing the hem of the mantle. A Center front button closure and a mandarin collar give a tailored look.

This pattern provides for a fully lined garment, and can be interlined with flannel for warmth. Frog closures can be substituted in place of buttons.
